With a combined legacy that bridges two generations of talent, Barbara Lewis and Meredith Lewis Gallo have come together to form a dynamic mother–daughter design studio. Their newly merged firm blends Barbara’s timeless sophistication with Meredith’s modern, fresh edge—uniting two designers who share a lifelong passion for creating meaningful, elevated interiors.

Barbara Lewis, Principal of The Lewis Design Group, brings 35 years of interior design experience and a celebrated career shaped by her early exposure to craftsmanship as the daughter of a master furniture maker. Educated at The New York School of Interior Design, Barbara is known for a classic yet current aesthetic that defines her work—from elegant private residences across the country to her six acclaimed showhouse spaces, including the 2022 Kips Bay Decorator Show House Palm Beach. Her work has been featured widely in Veranda, Elle Décor, Architectural Digest, House Beautiful, Hamptons Cottages & Gardens, Hamptons Magazine, Newsday, and many other leading publications. A respected industry voice, she frequently speaks on design and is admired for her ability to balance enduring style with modern sensibility.

Meredith Lewis Gallo, founder of GALLO and now co-principal of the merged firm, offers a fresh, modern perspective shaped by a lifetime immersed in design. Growing up alongside her mother instilled in her a deep understanding of color, proportion, and textiles—an intuition refined at The New York School of Interior Design and through art-history studies in Europe. Meredith’s early career at Cowtan & Tout honed her eye for pattern and palette, followed by bicoastal experience with renowned designers including David Phoenix, Jeff Lincoln, and Meg Braff. Her work has contributed to photo shoots for Veranda, House Beautiful, and other major publications. Known for a clean, polished, and subtly edgy aesthetic, she blends old and new in unexpected, sophisticated ways and brings a fashion-forward sensibility to the firm.

Together, Barbara and Meredith offer a boutique, full-service approach that is deeply personal and highly curated. Their shared philosophy centers on creating spaces that are beautiful, comfortable, and versatile, reflecting the way their clients truly live. With projects spanning Manhattan, the Hamptons, Connecticut, and Palm Beach County, their work is defined by thoughtful layering, custom detailing, and an elevated yet livable sensibility.
